any one else 3 weeks out and on stage 3 solids>?
I am starting to wonder if my NUT is a NUT she started me on solids yesterday, as is protocal for my surgeons program. He has been doing this for over 20 years, I should feel comfortable, but I keep reading about people still on puree and shakes at 3 weeks. I don't want to damage anything. I am not eating anything that does not slide down fairly easy when chewed.
But she told me to go home and hae a steak tip..NOT
thanks Gloria
All surgeons dont follow the same post op diets.. Some require liquids for a month then pureed for a month then on to solid foods.. Just make sure you follow what your doc says.. He knows what is safe and he wouldnt have you doing anything that would hurt your pouch.. And be happy your on real food already.. the pureed stage was the worst for me!!
Good luck

I was on clear liquid for a week, soft foods for two weeks, then onto solids and ive done AWESOME!!! I havent been sick or thrown up even once... just be VERY cautious...
I ate salad and VERY VERY small peices of chicken with balsamic dressing.. then i moved onto to other things... beef and I dont get along very well... beef is VERY hard in my opinion you have to chew for like 10 minutes..
GOOD LUCK

My hubby's slowly coming up to four weeks on the 4th and he's just eating soft foods. A question for you ladies, the doctor told my hubby to try to stay under 800 cals per day (for now) but my hubby has decided he wants to do 500 or less per day...won't this trick his body into starvation mode or something? He's getting in 50+ liquid per day and his protein but I think the cal count is soooo low. Is it just me? He says he doesn't feel hungry and doesn't even have cravings for foods (which is good news) but I worry that he won't eat since he doesn't feel hungry.
And have a wonderful and enjoyable turkey (solid or pureed) day!

WOW! Beef tips at this stage? I'm transferring to YOUR doctor
It amazes me how the surgeons are different. Mine wants me to stick to a strict 3 meals a day regime. But I'm still at a loss on how I'm supposed to increase my food intake and still only eat 3 times a day
At 1 month out......I am on the soft adaptive stage. So far I have tried very very lean roast beef(arbys) and a hard boiled egg. They have both stayed down fine with no
Take care and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
