Had my first terrible food reaction tonight ... OMG!
Hi all,
At almost 8 months post-op, there've been times when I've taken that one bite too many and been sort of uncomfortable, but I've been lucky never to have "dumped" or felt really horrible as a result of something I've eaten ... UNTIL TONIGHT!
I thought I was having a heart attack! It was horrible and lasted about 45 minutes. I went through the gamut of the symptoms: nausea, foamies, high back pain, mid-chest pain, cold sweat, hot-flash ... holy moly it was miserable. I couldn't sit up, lay down or walk to get comfortable. Nothing helped. I just ended up "riding it out" and thought it would never be over.
What did I eat? My daughter was having cheese dip, and I thought "Cheese ... hm ... I can eat cheese" and I had 4 fritos with dip on them. It had to be the combination of Fritos (first time I've eaten them since pre-surgery) and "Rotel" ingredients that did it.
So ... I learned a lesson tonight ... and I won't be doing that again ever!
Still feeling sort of nauseous after 3 hours.
