Protein drinks
greetings
yes, b12 must be taken by injection or sublingually. if you just take it in swallowable pill form, you won't get anything from it. what i've been told is that the portion of intestine that has been bypassed is the portion that absorbed the b12. taking it in sublingual form gets the b12 right into the bloodstream via the blood vessels that are located under the tongue. and lack of b12 can result in serious neurological damage. so please be sure to take the sublingual (which can be purchased at walmart) or injectable form of it.
i don't have any recipes for protein drinks. i like the advantedge protien shakes myself. they have a flavor called "cookies and cream" that tastes like liquid oreos to me...i have one in the evenings now instead of that pint of hagan daas i used to enjoy!
best to you.

Hi Kwheen,
Yes it is true what Doc Deb says. You have to take the B12 sublingual or by injection. I use the injections since I was on insulin before surgery and can do the needles myself. As far as the protien goes, I use the RTD shakes because they are easier and I just like the taste of them better. The brand I buy is World Wide Protien. I buy it online at Vitaminshoppe.com. They have Chocolate (which is my favorite), Strawberry, banana and vanilla. It is very easy for me to grab one on the way to work, or when I get home from work at night. I still drink 2 everyday. I will be glad to send you a few to try if you dont want to buy a whole case and waste your money if you dont like them. Just email me your address if you want me to do that. I will be happy to share.
Hugs,
Soos
Hi Kwheen,
I found a good recipie for protein shakes and I have been using it every day.
1 scoop of vanilla protein (I use the 100% whey protein from GNC)
1 serving of Carnation Instant Breakfast
8 oz of skim milk
Just mix it all together and drink it down. It is pretty tasty. You can't even tell it has the protein powder in it.
I had the lap band and have to take the sublinguil b12. Its not so bad putting them under your tongue. They are sweet tasting and easy to disolve.
