Because of my high BMI and some other issues I have to have a filter put in before surgery. Can anybody who has had this done give me a little insight on this procedure? Thanks CH

Hi!! I had the filter put in thru my neck and it was sore afterward and that was it. It was outpatient and they used a local anisthetic (sp?) I was awake and talking the whole time. Some ppl go to sleep but at my size they kept me awake. The procedure took about 15 minutes. Recovery was about 2 hours. I came home and went to bed.. LOL It wasn't a big deal for me... I hope yours goes well!!!!
