I had surgery Monday and I got on the scale today (5 times) and it says I've lost 23 lbs. To make sure I had my son, who went to practice today and weighed in at the gym, get on the scale and he says the scale is correct. If it is right is this bad?

Yes it possible. I lost 30 lbs in 2 weeks. I had surgery on 9-27-05 and since then I have dropped 75 lbs as of today. I started out at 417, so I think the more you have to loose the faster it comes off at first. But remember is it also possible to hit plateaus. I have hit several. Good Luck!

actually, it's quite possible, even probable, that you'r losing water from the surgery as well as fat - you're probably in ketosis. enjoy it while you can, the first few months are golden - in spite of plateaus - but as you get further from your surgery date and closer to your goal weight, the pounds come off more slowly. your body needs time to adjust, too. congrats on the weight loss enjoy the journey!!! dorthe

Bad, are you kidding, that is great!!! You have to realize , you can do 2 things the first week, lose water weight, or gain water weight (like I did) so you go girl!
