Exercise?

I am up to working out 4-5 days a week. I do 45-60 minutes of cardio (21 minutes on elliptical, up to 35 mins on bike, and I swim laps) plus I also do weights. Now, my trainer set up my program, so I am assuming it is okay, however, with my weight being so high, I am worried about putting on too much muscle. My weightloss averages about 2 lbs a week now, and to me it should be so much more. Anyone have any advice or can give an example of what they are doing. I really don't want to stop what I am doing, cuz 100 lbs ago I couldn't do this and to me that would be a step back. Thanks.

holy cow, kelli jo, you're doing really well. 2 lbs a week is actually a good amount to lose. i guess i'd stick with what the trainer is telling you, that's why you get a trainer. have you discussed it with your surgeon? again, congrats on the success. you're inspiring. dorthe

Thanks... yes I did consult w/ the surgeon and he actually recommends as much exercise as possible. Thanks so much.

Kelli, I have a personal trainer too. He tells me there is very little risk of women putting on too much muscle with a cardio/weight training regimine. I'm losing about the same amount now (2 lbs a week) and I do 6 days a week at the gym. 3 days cardio, 3 days weight training. My surgeon and my trainer are both ecstatic and always tell me that as I build muscle, I'm turning my body into a fat burning machine rather than a fat storing machine like I've always been. We gotta trust them I guess. And since we are feeling so good, it has to be right? Lori 384/272/170 P.S. 21 minutes on the elliptical! I'm impressed!

Thank you, that is really really good to know. And I do feel so much better. I don't think I want to ever go back to a life w/o exercise. You're impressed by me, wow, 6 days a week, now that is impressive. Keep it up!
