hi B, Boy are you ever so right! I was evaluating how I feel, and I can't remember having a good day preop physically and now oh my gosh, I have loads of energy, alot of the depression has lifted and I don't hurt as bad all over! This in itself is a gift even without the weightloss!! Thank you for setting me straight. Isn't it funny how we loose track of the state we were in preop? I need to stay humble and realise that every day I am here and feeling great is a gift from above! I do not drink ANY beverages containing sugar at all. I use to be a huge juice drinker preop (orange juice) but now its jus****er water water and coffee for me I have however had some old habits creep up. Such as snacking late night when I know I shouldnt. Mostly it's due to wanting to get rid of bad feelings. You know the old demon....the act of shoveling in food at a fast rate relieves us of those hurtful feelings I know I am a compulsive overeater, I have a serious eating disorder (overeating, bulimia) I am in therapy weekly hoping to work on these things..I am a work in progress! Thanks for the reminder B, I appreciate all your words. Love, Donna

Yeah you really hit the nail on the head about the thyroid.... I have been taking synthroid every day since I was 16 years old... I was taking 200 mcg for the last decade or so and then 3 months post op at my follow up appt, it was discovered that my TSH level was a 32!! Normal range is between 1.0 and 5.0 and the higher the number, the slower the matabolism. My body was fighting my weight loss. That's why I was losing "slowly" at 2-3 pounds per week... since my synthroid was increased, I lose around 4 pounds per week. The doc thought that perhaps my existing pills got wet or were outdated... I never thought that it could just be malabsorbed like my food. Thanks! Sam 464/367/225

I lost about 100 pounds in 7 months and then it suddenly stopped, and that was about a year and a half ago. My surgeon since has found my pouch is wider than it should be, and I'm absorbing too many calories. So we're all gearing up for a revision.
