Hey ya all! I had surgery a little over 2 months ago(open RNY).My starting weight was 362 and I am now 311.A loss of 51lbs.I had a 3 week stall and it seems I am on another one now.I keep going between 311 and 310 for almost a week now.Is another stall so soon normal? I know 51lbs is great and I will take it but it just seems like its coming off slow to me.Maybe its not and its just me lol Michelle

You're normal... you are losing inches and gaining muscle.. your body is changing and getting over the MAJOR surgery you just had a few months ago.. Stick to your program and hang in there.. things will be moving sooner than later... and 51lbs is mindblowing... and it's gone FOREVER!

Let me first congradulate you on your success 51 lbs is an accomplishment. You have lost 14%! I have attached a formula to help you determine your WL% 1)- What was your weight pre-op? 2)- What is your goal weight? 3)- How much have you lost already? 4)- How much total weight do you want to lose? (#1 - #2) 5)- What percentage of excess weight have you lost? (#3 / #4) Starting weight Minus Weight that is your "goal weight" Equals Amount of weight you need to lose *according to your surgeon* You take the: amount of weight you have lost divide it by amount of weight you need to lose equals the percent of your total you have lost So every time you calculate the amount you have lost, Divided by the total you need to lose, The percentage will change. NOW this is different than figuring out The amount of your TOTAL WEIGHT you have lost. To figure that out you would: Amount you have lost Divided by Amount you initially weighed Equals Percentage of total body weight you have lost I do not know if you have adopted an excercise plan as part of your new lifestyle, however it does help with the weightloss including stalls and plateaus. Those who excercise loose 35% faster than those who do not. During my journey I have found excercise to be a key component. Get started slowly and just keep increasing the amount each day/week. Wish you much future success on your journey. ((((hugs)))) Mary 415/177/(3 lbs below docs goal 180; 30 lbs to personal goal 147)

Daisy, increasing the duration, intensity, frequency and variety of your exercise program will help break a plateau. Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)

Actually I think 51 pounds in two months is better than average. Sounds like you're doing spectacular to me. My starting weight right before surgery was 414 and I believe I lost about 35 pounds in my first two months.
