The Bigger The Better!!
See Willby, I knew we had a lot in common ... my bookshelves are lined with Stephen King and Clive Barker. I used to read Dean Koontz, but lost interest after a while. In the last year, I've been reading Jeffrey Deaver (I really like the "Lincoln Rhyme" series of books he's written, but all of them have been good). Peter Straub is also a great horror writer.
On the lighter side of things, I love Alice Hoffman, Barbara Kingsolver, Fanny Flagg, and, of course, J.K. Rowling.
Recently, I've been sort of intent on reading some children's and classic books I either never read as a child or never got around to reading until now ... The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Chronicles of Narnia, Watership Down, Anna Karenina, and Sense and Sensibility. Also, I've been getting kind of addicted to the Mossflower series of books by Brian Jacques, but they're kind of an acquired taste, I think, and more of a children's series.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on so long, but you asked about one of my favorite pasttimes ... reading!!
(((hugs)))
Myra
((((((((MYRA))))))))),
Yep! I knew too we have a lot in common
I used to like Dean Koontz too. And I really liked Odd Thomas(have you read it?) But most of his books are all the same story just different characters.
I LOVE to read. I always tell my kids that "books are your best friends"......but none of the 3 read at all.
Thanks Myra
