Hi all, new to the BMI over 50 boards!

I've been lurking over here since I know that I fit in the category. I've only known about the sub-boards on this forum for about a month now. It's nice to be able to have a place where others can relate to your situation. My name is Cassandra, I live in Missouri and my BMI started out @ 58 when I first found the OH message boards back in Oct 05'. Now it is around 61 I believe. WELCOME to the over 50 BMI Board Cassandra!!!!!! What a joy it is to meet you and read all about your life living with overweight sounds like that is generational. Because you have come to this site, you are on the road to a healthier future, I am sure of it! You will find such great inspiration from those on this board and some great ideas, and even some laughs! Your precious trio is for sure precious... I agreee... in fact I am sure they need a big hug.... infact I am sending you all a big hug!!!! I too lost some height sometime during my two pregancies.... I stood a little over 5'9" and now I am a bit under 5'8".... my wls doctor put down 5'8" which made me happy for some weird reason!!! Hi Pam! Thanks you sooooo much for your very kind words and your very much appreciated hugs. What a very nice welcome! You are right, I feel like since coming to this site, I am on my way to making myself healthier, one way or another. I have sort of been awakened about my obesity issues. I was very much uneducated about WLS, I have since found it could certainly add life to my life. I'm still moving slow in my mind but I come to the OH message boards daily and it truly helps alot. It is so nice to be around a group of people that truly understand what I could possilbly be going through. So you lost height also, huh? Well, I'd never heard of that being possible until I was pregnant with my second child. Although every where I go and I'm measured, I am told I don't look as short as I was told the last time. I had a dietician/nutristionist tell me I was 5'6 1/2. I think I'm more 5'7 or so instead. I haven't had WLS yet either, just this weekend I finally committed to putting my papers in the mail for a surgeon. I'm really excited now and I can't wait until I get a consult date. I finally found a surgeon that I feel confident in and felt his confidence as well. Surgeon confidence is soooo important to me! Here's to hoping you get a date soon! Cassandra

Hi Lori, Yes, I am working on having WLS. I just turned my papers in for a surgeon this weekend. I'm pretty excited about it also. I had my DH put my letter in the mail. I told him to guard it as though it was some top secret letter to the president , he was to guard it with his life *LOL*. So he called me from the post office after it was finally in the mail! I'm on my way now! Congrats to you on you awesome WL success so far! Cassandra
