Has anyone ever experienced an old incision opening up? I had my hysterectomy about 6 years ago and it has opened up. My doctor says it is more than likely from the stress of my gaining back 226 pounds I had lost a few years back. I'm going to an open wound specialist and hoping that it won't take long to heal. I know I can't have my WLS until it's healed. Thanks for listening Theresa

Hi Theresa, Yes, I had an old hernia incision open-up. I happened to be working at a day-care center..we had to wear these ugly blue aprons...anyway, a child came up to me and said,"Miss Ginger you've go****er all over your tummy!" Well, it wasn'****er..it was pinkist fluid from my hernia repair opening up. Needless to say I had to have a hernia repair redo. I've never heard of a wound opening up after 6 years. If you are going to a wound specialist..ask them about the wound VAC. This has really helped my incisional wound heal faster. It uses the degative pressure of a vaccum and thus sucks out all the bad stuff and causes your wound to heal allot faster...it works great especially if you have diabetes. I never thought I'd reccomend this thing to anyone...I've been lugging it around for going on 5 weeks. I hope your wound heals quickly so you can get back on track getting all the stuff done you need to do for wls. Take care and let us know what happens. We're always here to listen. Hugs, Ginger
