Call Italy!!! No Spaghetti For Me!!!
Good Rainy Monday,
Well, its official......GBS patients cant eat spaghetti
I didnt believe it
.....had to try it myself
. Well......sad to say.....this was me last night

.
I'm ok.....in the words of someone great....."its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". Except mine goes "its better to have tried spaghetti and barfed....than never to have tried at all"

If it helps, I've made sphagetti sauce and put it over heated and drained bean sprouts. It's almost uncanny how much it *looks* like spaghetti, and because the sprouts don't have much of a taste at all, they sort of absorb the sauce and it's pretty good. If they're heated, they soften and aren't crunchy. (Don't want crunchy "p'sghetti ... nope nope).
If it was the pasta that gave you the prob, Will, and not the sauce, you might try this approach.

I had some lo mein today. The noodles are very pasta-like. I did do a little hurling, but I'm pretty sure it was from a large shrimp I didn't chew well enough. And I ate to damned fast. I really need to watch that, especially if I go more than 3 hours without eating. When I'm hungry, I'm more likely to eat too fast.
I have a rule:"If it stays down, it's good." I tried a little shrimp-less lo mein later. It stayed down. So it's good
I do feel like I'm losing my clean plate club mentality. I went to lunch with a friend. She bought me soup. It was gross (clam chowder that tasted like library paste and very elderly crustaceans). I ate enough of it to know how horrid it was and just stopped. In the old days, I would've eaten more. To be polite, etc. But I just gave up. I have food at home. If I get something out I don't like, I don't need to eat it.
Willby -- you'll find other things to do. You really need to buy some popsicle molds. My Juicy Juice popsicles are the best. Only 45 calories
And no gross aftertaste.
