Karyn Buddenhagen's Surgery

This is Karyn's Mom. I promised her I would get word to all her friends here . She went into surgery today at 2pm and just now got finfished at 8:30pm. The doctor said all went well. They were able to scope her rather than a large incision so I know that will please her when she wakes up. On the dark side, the doctor told us that they found 2 surgical sponges inside her from a previous hernia surgery she had a few years ago! Can you imagine!!?? I am so mad! Anyway, thank you all so much for the love, support & friendship you show my beautiful girl. Now, as we sit back and watch her emerge into an even better version of previous self, it will be truly heartwarming to see. I will post again tomorrow if there is any news. Jeanine

Hi, I am glad to hear Karyn is doing well. That is shocking that they left surgical sponges inside her, thank god they didnt cause any complications. You have a really sweet daughter. Thank you for keeping us informed. love marie

Jeanine Thank you so much for the update in Karyn. I know she will be really happy that they did it Lap wise. And your right she is a very beatiful lady and we all love her very much here on the SMO's board. Please give her all of our love and let her know she is in our thoughts and prayers!!! Jeanine, Thanks so much for the update! I called you last night...but there was no answer. Wow! her surgery took a long time.I'm just glad to hear that it went well...........now she can get on with living(just like all of us) Thanks again! willby

Hi Jeanine, Thank you so much for updating us on your beautiful daughter's progress. Two surgical sponges left inside?? Wow I have a surgical wound that was infected from my surgery and come to find out the wound doctor was able to find a long black soucher that had been collecting all kinds of infection since the surgery..Once that was removed..I was on the mend. Tell Karyn our prayers were with her. thanks so much for being a support to her as she recovers...the first 2-3 weeks are the worst..well, at least it was with me. Hugs, Virginia aka Ginger

Thank you so much for keeping us updated as to Karyns surgery!! I'm so glad she is on the losers side, but horrified at the thoughts of sponges being left behind. Karyn will do wonderful with this tool!! Take care, Anita
