Hi guys! I am Margaret's oldest daughter, Beverly. I just wanted you all to know that mom is home and doing good. She's a little sore from the drive and still feels like "my insides are beating beaten to death." I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! LOL She went into surgery fine and came out with a whole new skinnier look about her. She was still under the anesthesia and my family and I joked with her about how she looked skinnier already! LOL But she got up and walked about 3-4 hours after her surgery. Honestly, who knew ice chips could taste like steak. (Guess I need to try them too!) But she did really well and they were able to take her catheter out last night. Obviously she didn't take my advice and keep hitting the button on the morphine pump. She hardly used any at all. I told her to hit that thing so much that it looked like a controller for a Playstation. LOL (We're talking about a woman who doesn't like to take Tylenol if she doesn't have to.) She went into X-ray this morning for her test to make sure that there were no leaks and everything was fine. Only problem she is having, is getting that God awful taste of what she took to make her "glow" and detect the leakage. She was in fact a wonderful patient and we were able to bring her home tonight. She's resting now and taking it easy. Still just really sore. I want to say thank you for all of your kind words and well wishes. This website means alot to her and has helped her be the brave woman she was in having this surgery. We did research on this two years ago and she chickened out since she was not prepared mentally. Now, I see her as being one woman I am proud to call my mom. This will be a hard journey for her but I know she can do it. We all have many, many years ahead with her and I know she wants to be around for her grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. There is one person in particular that has stood out and deserves a hug, kiss, and wonderful pat on the back...and then some! Tanja Wollin has been my mom's angel throughout this whole process. I appreciate everything she has done because she is the one who has helped my family in understanding things and preparing for this procedure when we have had some crazy questions. So you ladies have a wonderful evening and look for mom to be back on here soon. I think I heard something being muttered from her about being in "DT's" from not being on her website! Take care all! Beverly

Hi Beverly! Thanks so much for the update on your mom. She means alot to us too and can't wait to see her back! She is not alone in this. We are all here for support. I chickened out after my first consultation too, but even though it was a huge struggle, I am so glad that I had the surgery. Hope mom (Marge) is feeling better real soon! Huggs, Ruth
