I need your HELP!!!!
Okay, once again I am looking to you all for information and help. As some of you know I was put on a all liquid diet while waiting for my insurance approval. I am drinking my protein shakes, water, sugarfree koolaid, sf jello, sf popsicles, coffee or tea, and broth. I am wondering if there is anything else out there that I am missing?? Maybe something you all had while on your liquid diets?? I miss chewing so much and I know alot of it is in my head. Because I am really not hungry. I am just bored and tired of the same ol same ol.
I read on one of the boards that someone got the egg drop soup. And strained off everything but the broth and thats what they drank. Would this be possible for the hot & sour soup also?? Please help me I am trying really hard to stick with this and not give up or in. And I know there are several of you out there that has had to do the liquid diet thing. So any information would be greatly appricated!!! I was even thinking about the roman noodles in a cup and just drinking the juice?? Am I wrong and need to just stay with broth or what?? I sure dont want to gain any weight back that I lost.

Hi Melissa,
I would think that any soup you have as long as you strain off the solids would be ok. As far as the chewing and crunch munch on some ice chips or freeze some crystal light and the cru**** up and chew it. Not sure if this helps, but keep up the good work it will all be so worth it for you in the end!!

Sorry I can't be a real big help but I do have to say.. Be careful of the broths and do not have the ramen noodles juice. Ramen Noodles are very high in fat and sodium and would defeat the whole purpose.
Does your surgeon have a dietitian you can call? Mine is an excellent source for finding stuff to eat that won't hurt ya.

To me it doesn't sound like you are missing anything...it just sucks to have to eat like this for an extended period. I also think you should stay away from the raman noodle liquid, it is way too high in sodium and fat. You can have any of the broths from other soups though. Also, try broths like Mushroom for variety. It is in the same place in the grocery store as chicken broth. I added a squeeze of fresh lemon to the chicken broth to change up the taste a bit.

Here are some suggestions:
Freeze splenda-made Koolaid and make an icee in the blender.
Ice from Sonic to crunch on.
Au Jus from Arby's (tastes wonderful, it is a little high in sodium so make sure you drink more water that day)
Any soup cooked as you should and strain off the liquid. This gives it more flavor.
Hot and sour soup strained is good as is egg drop soup and wonton soup.
