1 week post-op!
And I am already down to 266, and no longer SMO! my bmi is now 48.6, it was 57.7 when i first began researching WLS 6 months ago. i am still feelin very weak and exhausted
, but improving everyday. The nausea is almost completely gone, and the head hunger is just beginning. I dont know how I am going to get through another week of just liquids
. I have my first appointment with nutrition on Wednesday and I am going to ask them if I can try an egg or cheese. I still have a little soreness form my incisions, but not what I would call pain. I just gotta get through this next week and I think I might start feeling happy about this
! I have a question I would appreciate all of your advice about, my mom has this really great stuff that is similiar to gatorade, it is distributed by Melaleuca, but anyway they use it for people to get energy and hydration back after having the flu. It has 3 grams of sugar per 8oz serving. I dont know if I should try it because of the sugar
, what do you all think? I will ask my doctor as well but would really like your opinions also. Thanks again for being here for me, I really am starting to feel better.

I am so glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Look at how far you have come in such a short amount of time!!!! I know what you mean about liquid diet/ I am on one for approx 4 to 6 week. But all's I do is take it one day at a time. Dont think man I have 1 more week of liquids. Just take it one day at a time and at the end of the day you can say. Wow I did it I got thro another day. I know you can do it!!! Keep up the great work we are all rooting for you!!!!

The liquid diet really sucks, but, it is so necessary for your pouch to heal properly. My nutritionist said that each of the food stages are designed for maximum healing. The patients that I knew who pushed it and ate stuff before they were supposed to had problems and some are still having problems! I followed the rules and had no problems. Given that answer, I still think it sucks.
About the drink. 3 grams of sugar per 8 oz does not sound bad to me. But, you are the only one who can tell. I would try drinking 4 oz and see if you feel bad. If you are going to dump, you will know it...To this day, I can only eat 1/2 of a low carb protein bar.
I'm excited for you...I know this is the rough part!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better. keep up the good work. Congratulations on making it to no more SMO.
My boyfriend said he sold Melaleuca, I thought it was a think of the past. like amway. You just dont here too much about people selling the stuff anymore. As far as if its good for you. I have no ideal, I would suggest calling your nutritionists and asking her/him.
