Ever Notice.......
.....how your name defines your personality? I always wanted a cute name like Monique or Yvonne or Yvette. So what do I get? BRIDGET! theres no way that the owner of that name could be perceived as cute or sexy. That name has defined me as a big, strong irish gal who will beat you a$$ if you look at her cross-eyed
I could never be a stripper with a name like that. (and I SO wanted to do that too)

Anyways............do you like your name?

Mine is OK, I guess....I heard it was the most popular girls name in the US in 1975. It means "strong and womanly." I always loved the name Maya, and that would've been my sons name, if he were a girl. My daughter's name is Cecelia, and she loves it, and I think it is beautiful, and we have never met another kid named Cecelia. I believe my name translates to "average." I don't believe it is the name of a CEO or Nobel Prize winner, but it'll have to do. Could've been worse, I suppose!

Hi Bridget aka Bridget Bardoe,
I didn't know my name was "Virginia" untill my second grade teacher called it out and I didn't respond. I kept waiting for her to call out "Ginger" so I could raise my name high. My teacher insisted on calling me Virginia cause that was her name too! I always looked for a nick-name..didn't know how to shorten it so I started in third grade to leave off the last 2 letters in my name..."Virgin" that shortened it right?? Well, needless to say, my parents were called in for a conference about the matter. My dad had the job of telling me why I couldn't write that name on my papers anymore. My dad was a red-head---boy was his face RED. Oh, and by the way, my dad "got to" talk to me about the women's reproductive system too
That red face beat all others. He was prepared with graphs and diagrams..and my brothers couldn't come into the living room until the lecture was over (of course they snickered in the hallway)
That was the first and last "fact-of-life" talk we ever had. When my little sisters came along...I filled them in on the good stuff! What are big sisters for anyways?? It gets confusing having two names that you go by...Virginia for the legal stuff..and Ginger for the fun stuff. I feel like I have a dual personality.....
maybe I should had discussed that in my pysc exam for wls

Hugs,
Virginia aka Ginger.....now that's a stripper name if I've ever heard one

I had an eldery great aunt who's name was Virgin Mary...she went by Virgie.
There are a lot of Marys in our family. My mom, my sister and I all have Mary as a first name (although only my mom uses it) and 3 out of my 4 grandparents had a sister named Mary.
(I know what you're thinking, but no, actually we are/were Baptist...
)
I ABSOLUTELY love my name. I was named Erica after Erica Kane from All my Children. I have a twin sister named Tara (from All My Children as well!). I wouldn't want another name though. I asked my mother why we didn't have middle names and she said that it took long enough to get the first names, she didn't want to think about other names. I told her once that I was going to create myself a middle name and she said to go ahead, be creative. So unofficially my name is Erica Kane' Pearson
!!! Is that creative or what!!!!?
