Marlena, thats funny, my mom spelled my name with a "y" instead of the traditional Karen, and I always had to correct everyone, but never thought about having the same problem with my own daughter when I named her Hanna instead of Hannah.

Mothers do the dangdest things ... I have twins daughters. Had my heart set on one boy... had the name ready and everything. Then two surprise girls come along, and I had to think fast. This was back in the 70s when it was still fashionable for twins' names to rhyme (yes, they hate me for it) ... so my daughters are Kristina Machelle and Kimberly Danelle. Got set on the Danelle name and then just thought I was sooooooo smart changing the spelling of Machelle. Caused nothing but turmoil all their school years. Besides that the name blanks on all those school forms were about 1/4 inch long, and their full names were just never meant to fit into that small a space. Myra

Hi willby I think a lot of people want to change their name. My name is Marie Dale how about that one. I was named after both my grandmothers Edith Marie, and Flossie Dale. How about that for a mouth full. Most people think of Dale as a boys name. At least I didnt get the Flossie part. Their are a lot of Marie's out there. I have been called Rie, Rie Rie, mary, Maria, and Arie. I prefer Marie, and or Rie Rie. Rie Rie got started for my nephew and believe me everyone has pick it up. I dont think some people even know my real name. I named my daughter Sasha Marie. And she really hates that. But I always liked it. well bye Love marie

My name is Lisa although most people call me Lise and I tend to go by that name in my circle of friends. Lise is actually short for my nickname, Lisemicheal, from my grandpa and yes it is michael spelled incorrectly. He spoke fluent French and the first time he saw my name .... Lisa Michele... he told my mom she named me a boys name (michel in french = michael in english) and it stuck as far as he was concerned. Everyone else just shortened it to Lise. I like my name although in high school I tried spelling it many different ways.... Liesa, Lyssa, Leesa, etc, but always have come back to the original. Lise

I am indifferent about my name (Mary). Growing up, I used to want a more trendy name, or a name that was more up to date. Most Mary's seem to be elderly. But now, I am fine with it. I work with youth and as a "get to know you activity", sometimes I will play a game where we try to guess eachother's names. And I am shocked how often they guess my name. It might take them a few tries, but many guess my name. I suppose I just look like a "Mary"

Well my name is Jeremy - I suppose I "am" a Jeremy. Mom calls me Jeremy Dawn, she says that my first name is Jeremy Dawn, I say (and my birth certificate says) that Jeremy is the first name and Dawn is the middle. I don't think that I could ever fit any other name, I just don't look like anything other than a Jeremy.... I do like it, there are not alot of girls named Jeremy. I am unique... Jeremy

Bobbie Jo is my name. When I was younger I was made fun of for having a boys name and they would nickname me 'boobie'. I hated that the most. But I've learned to live with it now that I am older :D
