I just saw this post but had to weigh in. My name is Jamie Lyn and when I was little (and STILL to this day) my dad will merge them together and say this JamieLyn twang thang. Jamie doesn't bother me too bad..nothing important or creative behind it..it is the Feminine form of James..no big story there..lol. My mom said she named me after the Bionic Woman..how lovely. My husband goes around making these goofy sounds like he's walking in slow mo or something..and teasing me about my name. I always wanted a different name as a kid and in first grade told everyone to call me Jane..well it was different.. I guess it sounded more girly? My best friend calls me James or Jamison... Jamie

OMG .. do NOT get me started on this topic!!! I've gone through my whole life with an OLD LADY'S name!!! Or so I felt. When I was young oh how I envied the Kathys and Susans and Beths. Even my middle name is plain (Jane) but I would have settled for being called that because there might have been an off-hand chance I'd be called Janie or something else youthful and cute. I got this name because my Mom didn't have the guts to stand up to her big sister and say "no, I won't name my beautiful daughter after you!" ... But the name Mother had picked out might have been just as bad ... "India Jane" after my great-grandmother. Finally, I just stopped thinking about. I think I was maybe 45 by then. LOL Nope, nope, nope ... wouldn't even give people I don't like a name like Myra. and BTW .. I think Bridget is a beautiful name ... wanna switch? Myra

Hi Myra, Or should we call you "India Jane" I didn't know you had twin girls! I think you picked wonderful names for them. When we get to be moms...we get our chance to make things right...but once we put that name on the birth certificate..it's downhill from there. Nobody's happy right?? Hugs, Virginia aka Ginger
