good morning smores!! When I was little, we were too poor to buy all the new toys that came out. But last night....my husband went to an auction and brought me home a Crissy doll. For those of you too young to remember(GINGER I KNOW ITS NOT YOU) she was a red-headed doll that had a string on her back....when you pull her ponytail it grows about 8 inches (MARLENA........NO DIRTY JOKES PLEASE!!) then you pull the string to make it get small again. But the best part of the whole thing..........she looks like the doll Chuckie from the scary slasher movies. My kids (yes....they ARE 22,16,26) are all terrified of her!!! Ive been having the best time putting her in my daughters bedroom or in the bathroom. Last night, my 16 year old almost fell down the steps she scared him so bad ( NOW! isnt that good wholesome bonding-type fun with your kids?) Hope every SMO has a wonderful day. willby PS: my Crissy doll is available for rental in case you want to scare the pants off your OWN kids!!

You are so funny Willby. Send it over I got a 17, 18, and 25 year old I would like to scare. You think it would scare the 25 into learning he is getting old enough that he needs to get his own place. Ha!!! I doubt it. I guess I will have to put him in the closet. love marie

Cool, I had a Crissy doll as a kid. Isn't she great? I'll bet you are have more fun terrorizing your kids with her than you ever would have playing with her as a kid. Loris

Girlfriend - you are MY kind of mom!!! I love it!!! I am always looking for new ways to torture and embarrass my kids. Keeps them on their toes! Of course, they warned me that if I don't let up on them, they are going to have their revenge when I start dating!! Scarry. I think I remember the Crissy doll. I was born in 1961 does that sound about right? What I do remember though, was what a BIG deal it was when the Barbie dolls came out with arms and legs that bended!!!! Whoa that was bigtime. You be good and enjoy that doll! ((((Hugs)))) Carol

Wow!! I love the Crissy dolls. I had a Baby Crissy when I was about six, but lost her in a fire, so my wonderful partner bought me on a beautifully preserved Baby Crissy doll for my birthday a few years ago. We looked on EBAY and found tons, but we were actually able to find one at a doll shop near us. I just love that doll and dress her in the cutest little baby girl clothes. We have a little boy, so she is as close as I'll get to a baby girl, LOL. She is so cute, but Janet is terrified of her, LOL. She says the eyes follow her around the house, and once in a while I see that she has put something over the dolls face, LOL. Take gentle care.- Shelley C

Williby.......... You are too funny, I just love you, your posts are always so energetic...... I must admit, I am old enough to remember the Chrissy doll, and I can go one even better, I had one as a child, and boy oh boy! did I love that doll, geez! I wouldnt mind having her again, it was fun dressing her and combing her hair..... In my old age now, I'm a doll conisseur, I love and collect dolls, particularly procelain dolls, but I wouldnt mind adding vinyl to my collection, or starting a collection of dolls from the 70's and 80's, ahhh! the good ol' days..... Williby, you really brought a to my face today, thanks soooo much.....you brought back some fond memories too..... I must say I the part about how it scares your kids, that reminds me of a doll I brought my girls when they were young {they are now almost 20 yrs. old and 17 yrs. old, and I'm a grandmother, but that's another story}; I cant remember the dolls name, but they played with it so much that it began to look like Chucky, and what makes this even funnier {I wish you coulda seen this doll OMG!}; they had a play kitchen set, with knives, need I say more :shrug" -- to see those kids scream and run was the funniest thing in the world to me, I'm sorry if that sounds bad, but it was and still is funny, and too this day they are still afraid of it :rolf: Whew! TGIF, thanks again Williby, you have really got my weekend off on a good note....

Willby, I don't remember the Chrissy doll, but I do remember that when I was a kid, my favorite TV show was Little House on the Prairie, and since my name is Carrie and my best friend was named Laura, it seemed perfect. Wel, they came out with Laura and Carrie dolls, and I, of course, had both, and loved those dolls to death. So, long story short, a couple weeks ago, on EBay, of course, someone had the Carrie Doll, still in her original box, never used, for sale. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself! It went for $40, and, in my opinion, a bargain at 10 times the price, and she just arrived yesterday. I am so happy!!! My family thinks I am an idiot. "What are you going to do with that Mom?" So, I tell them, I am just going to love her and look at her and take care of her forever! Congratulations on your Chrissy doll! Carrie
