What all to take????
As some of you know i was approved for wls surgery,wow still in shock can someone pinch me please,lol.
I meet my surgeon tomorrow and very excited about it.1001 things are going through my mind but there is one that I was wondering if i could get some help from you all.
What do i pack and take to the hospital?
Thank you so very much!!!
I concur with Sandra. Chapstick and a pillow for the ride home. All I took was my hairbrush and the clothes I wore there, I wore home. Didn't need anything else as you're either sleeping or walking while your there. The hospital provided gowns, shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a few other toiletries. Best wishes!
Huggs,
Ruth
Get your hair in a french braid if you can. I had massive rats and tangles in my hair, not to mention green dye. My surgeon did the leak test in the OR and apparently got a little zealous with the dye. I remember waking up in Intesive Care with this beautiful nurse who said she really liked the color. Like I wanted it there. Crazy!
Good luck, and I'll say a poem and a prayer for you. Don't bring anything other then what everyone else has said, unless it makes you happy to pack. I found packing to be a stress reliever so I packed a suitcase full of stuff. Never even opened it. Debra
I brought the following:
* a very cheap discman
* CDs I burned to listen to in the hospital (including a sleepy music CD, and a lot of public radio stuff).
* Books (didn't end up reading -- too tired/drugged)
* Chapstick (didn't need it)
* List of contacts for my family to call after surgery. Also handy as a reference for when I wanted to call people.
I didn't bring a pillow because a pillow doesn't fit between me and the seatbelt. I wish I'd brought travel sized soap and shampoo. the hospital does provide that stuff, but it's kind of on the crappy side. If you have stuff you really like, bring it. I also wished I'd thought to bring some decent lotion.
