I got much more than a workout this morning! I made it to the gym for a 5:30 am circuit jazzercise class, even through 15 inches of snow! When I got home, I fought with my snowblower for about 15 minutes, couldn't get it started and when I did, it wouldn't stay started (I had just paid a guy $75 to fix the darn thing for me.) So, I went out and shoveled snow for about 45 minutes, then he came home, got the thing started for me, then I did my walks, his walks and driveway, plus 2 other neighbors walks and driveways. It took me forever to drive to work this morning. Now, I'm here, feeling quite tired and sore. But, I do know I burned a whole lotta calories today! Even if I am cranky about it! What did you do today to move? Lori 384/252.5/168

You are so funny sometimes. I bet you are sore. silly thing. Well I went for my mile walk today. Took the dogs to the park while we walk the ran around. They love to go to the park. Missy, my baby, Tries to keep up with Red, My other dog, and cant she is not big enough. Then he leaves her then comes running from a distance and just plows her over I keep telling him he is going to make her mean but as the dog he is. He just looks at me like I am crazy. How come men never listen. I also lifted my little 5 pd weight this morning. I know it is not much but I have to start somewhere. I have gotten so weak I dont know if I can do another surgery I probably wont have any strength left. But I guess you have to hit bottom before you can climb up, right, I can do this, I can do this, I can do this says Marie I am the Little train that can. My nurse called and told me that I can weight to start my liquid diet on Monday. I guess because I told her I didnt know if I could do that. And was upset about the open that they would be nice. So that is better. thanks love marie

Marie, Going for a one mile walk and lifting 5 lb weights is great! Especially for a pre-op. You have to start somewhere. Before my surgery, I don't think I could walk 1 block. And even then, I had to use a cane because my knees hurt so much. Starting your liquid diet on Monday is a good thing. You can do this. Most of us had to do this before surgery. We didn't like it, but, we did it. I, for one, was pretty cranky because I was hungry and headachy during that period, but, I did it. After surgery it is much easier to eat and drink what they want you to, especially in the first few weeks, because it is hard to eat. Now that I'm almost 9 months out, eating is very easy, too easy, so enjoy the lack of appetite period as long as it lasts! When you are recovering, take the exercise slow and gradually build up. I think I was about 10 weeks out before I could walk very far. So, be patient, but, keep exercising. I really believe it is so important for the long term success of this. Oh yeah, and I'm not mad about my morning and the snow adventures any more... Have a great day! We are here for you Marie! Lori

Awesome, Lori! While you were battling the snow, it was 58 degrees here. So my exercise was one hour walking outside, 15 minutes washing my car. Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)
