both appts are done - here's my update
hi everybody.
thought i should follow up on my hard luck post from last weekend with the results of my dr visits. so here goes:
i saw the podiatrist on thursday and got a shot of cortisone in my ankle. he's trying to rule out the ankle as a problem since it still hurts and is puffy where i broke it last year. and he wants to know EXACTLY what he will need to deal with when he finally does the foot. the cortisone shot numbed my foot so at least on valentine's evening it didn't hurt when we went out for supper. (buca's) the problem is not as bad with the cortisone so i'm holding a good thought that maybe i can escape surgery after all.
(cross your fingers, please).
my visit today with the surgeon for the one year follow up went well. all my levels are good.
i've lost 157 official pounds since surgery
and, given the facts that i've had my hysterectomy and plantar fascitis this past year, i'm pretty darn happy with year one.
the dietician said my fatigue may very well be from menopause or depression, since all my levels are all good. so i'm gonna work on a more positive attitude, gonna let go of the argument i'm having with my mother, and, if the fatigue continues i'll check with my pcp on the depression and menopause solutions.
i really, really, really want to thank everyone for all the positive thoughts, feedback, input, prayers, encouragement and posts. you guys totally rock. i feel so fortunate to have found this place and i'm thankful every day that you're all here. please know that, even when i don't post as much, i'm still visiting, lurking, praying, cheering, etc...
thanks again, everyone. have a wonderful end of the week.
hugs
dorthe
thanks so much, lori. i'm fairly pleased with the weight loss, but more than that, i'm relieved the tests came back ok. hopefully (i'm trying to be positive here) i won't keep having issues physically after the foot thing is resolved. keeping my fingers crossed, anyway.
thanks again. i appreciate the kind words.

Hi
Just some insite I too went thru the depression and fatigue after i had my hysterectomy.. My PCP put me on lexapro and it works wonders no side effects at all. It takes a few weeks to kick in but it is really good and i only take 20 mg every night it even helps me sleep. Just thought I would give you an idea.
Good luck and the weight loss is fantastic with all you have been through you should be very proud of you we are...
Priscilla
Hi Dorthe
WOW!! You are doing great!! 157 pounds is something to cheer about girl!!!
I'm glad to see you are feeling a little bit better, I was worried about you, and continue to hold you in my prayers!! Sweetie, I know when I had my hysterectomy I suffered from depression and fatigue, the prescription my PCP gave me was wellbutrin XL. I know the Wellburtrin is friendly as far as not causing weight gain. I am still on it, and I can tell a big difference when I don't take it. So can my DH
Take care!!
Theresa
Well ... here I am drag-*ssing in here last of all ... sorry.
I can't say how happy I am to see you posting here ... I've missed you being around so much!!!
Yay on both dr visits (at least a little yay on the cortisone providing some relief!)!! And I'd say you've had an eventful eventful year and still done "WOW"!
Welcome back, good buddy, things haven't been the same without you. Always here for you.
Myra
