Ok I'm getting so bored with my "snacks" ... same old same old every day. I'd like to hear from other post-oppers on what they eat for the "between-meals" snack, other than Protein drinks of course. I need to be a little more creative, so ideas please? thanks! Myra

Myra, Are you familiar with Superfoods? I try to base my snacks and meals on them, because you are getting the most nutrition for the smallest amount of these. Here is the list of superfoods: 1. Yogurt 2. Walnuts & Almonds (raw) 3. Beans 4. Turkey 5. Soy 6. oranges 7. Tomatoes 8. pumpkin 9. Tea 10. spinach 11. wild salmon 12. oats 13. broccoli 14. blueberries So, for snacks, I do: 3/4 c plain nonfat yogurt with 1/3 c blueberries (I buy frozen) 22 raw almonds, splenda to taste 3/4 c plain nonfat yogurt with 1/2 c kashi cereal cut up broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes 1/2 nonfat cottage cheese w/1 small tomatoe and chives cut up in it 2 slices lowfat luncheon meat (beef, turkey, ham) wrapped around a mozzerella cheese stick 30 pistachios with 1 banana 1/3 c soynuts That's all I can think of, but, my point is, I try and fit in protein each time. Thanks Lori, Already had the nuts, yogurt, oats, cottage cheese, broccoli, carrots and beans in my food rotations ... oranges haven't been included because I've been battling that ulcer and my gallbladder, and tomatoes (sadly because I loved them), lunchmeats, and cucumbers just don't agree with me anymore. Berries haven't ever been a favorite food, with the exception of strawberries. Haven't tried the soy nuts, pumpkin or wild salmon, but I will. Which Kashi cereal are you talking about? I've given the Heart to Heart a try as well as Go Lean, and they're both good. I also mix plain GrapeNuts in my yogurt alot because I'm simply a person who needs to "crunch" once in a while, and my nutritionist gave it the ok. The pistachios with a banana sound great, but aren't pistachios high in fat? I need to read a label on them, haven't in a long time. thanks for the ideas! Myra

Myra, Sorry to hear you have problems with some of these superfoods. I love them all and I've tolerated them all very well. The Kashi I eat is the Go Lean. It is like a granola. I don't have much at one serving, but, since I mix it with yogurt, it fills me up. Pistachios are great. You can have 30 pistachios for 102 calories, 8 grams of fat and 4 grams of protein. As nuts go, the fat is low. And it is the "good" fat. Lori
