I'm going to Disney World!!! A year ago, at over 500 lbs. this wouldn't even have been a consideration. I am so excited and just a little trepidatious. Anyone have any stories to share?? (the good, the bad and the ugly!) I'm going next month with my family (all different sizes) and we've all decided to each do something we would have never done before. I definely am getting my big old butt in one of those tube rides at the water parks! and karaoke... and the pedal boats... and... and the jacuzzi ... I'm finally alive again and there is so much I want to (and can) do! Can anyone tell I'm excited????? Steff

Hi Steff... You have every right to be excited.. I know I have done many things post-op that I would have never dreamed about doing in the past. As a matter of fact, my wife and I went snow tubing last weekend and HAD A BLAST.. It was soooo much fun. I can't imagine doing it pre-op. As for Disney World, I went in July of 2004 for the first time in my life. I was pre-op, actually not even pre-op thoughts. I was 400+ at the time we went. I am a coaster nut, and actually live only miles from the best coaster park (Cedar Point) in the World (in my opinion) and since it was years since I was able to ride anything there, I did not expect much. I was VERY PLEASED to be able to ride EVERYTHING except one simulation at Disney Quest. The only problem I had was being exhusted from the walking and it was July, so it was in the 90's and humid the whole time. But we managed to have a lot of fun and I look forward to going back post-op and in cooler temps! As for the water parks, I just don't do water parks (well maybe someday, but not at that time). As for karaoke, never tried it, but be sure to visit "downtown Disney". There is a huge night club near Planet Hollywood that had kareoke advertised outside. If you are a coaster nut, you will love Rockin Roller Coaster and Space Mountain. Also be sure to ride Tower of Terror. I rate all the above a 10+++. OK, that was for the good... For the bad.... Only the temps, but that was our fault for going in July.. The ugly.... don't recall any.. All the staff and employees were great and I never felt out of place. Have a fantastic time and post your visit experiences / photos when you return.. By the way, you have just started me thinking about how I can't wait to get back there for a visit! lol ~dan

Hey Dan, thanks for the advice. Not sure if I'm a coaster nut or not, stopped fitting when I was still a teenager, so I talked myself into believing I didn't like amusement parks. But I am soooo looking forward to this! My first vacation in over 10 years! I went to Disney World back in '89, but this time I'm going with 'my people' so that makes it so great. 3 weeks from tomorrow! Steff
