i've got a bone spur, plantar fasciitis, flat feet and a bunion. the cortisone helped the ankle joint somewhat. he said we could postpone the surgery with another cortisone shot in the heel. but it would only be a matter of time until the pain returns - then it would be surgery. so i'm gonna GIT ER DONE asap. perhaps i'll be walking normally by my birthday (may). wish me luck. i just want it to stop hurting so badly all the time. hugs dorthe

Dear Dorthe, My feet are going to be the death of me yet!! I also have a bone spur, plantar Fascilitis and flat feet. In fact, I had my podiatrist write a letter to my insurance company to get the surgery. I seem to have more problems with my left foot (it was crushed by a tricycle a few years ago) It is literally 2 sizes bigger than the other foot. I wear the same two pair of shoes cause I can't find shoes that will accomadate my crazy feet!! Since the wls in Nov. I have not had the pain I used to have. I have a really hard time staying on my feet for long periods of time. I know that you really wanted to stay out of the O.R with your foot..but if that helps subside your pain and help you walk normally..you'll be sooo much happier!!! HugsGinger

Dorthe, Cortisone can only be repeated a couple of times then it starts doing its own damage! I know this with my foot problems and knee problems. I do know other folks that I work with that had this surgery you are talking about and once they got healed up have been very happy with their results. I hope you have that experience! Lori
