Gym is Open (Thursday)
I had planned to go to the shallow water aerobics class today, but I had some vomitting issues shortly before I planned to leave. I thought about staying home and watching Jeopardy! with my cats, and decided to go to the deep water class that meets immediately after my regular class.
So I swam back and forth across the pool for about 20 lengths (widths, actually, though our pool is about 20 meters across -- it's very large) doing a variety of cutely named manoevers (sea horse, vertical frog, bear crawl -- I really want to teach this class and just randomly make up new names for these things like Unboned Real Dead Frog). Then we did very unpleasant things with hand buoys (these mimic hard weights -- you have to keep them under water and use the resistance as the weight), and followed that with a lot of thigh exercises and loads of crunches. Then stretching, the locker room and the 30 degree weather on my way to the parking lot.
I'm still glad I went. At least I didn't puke in the pool
Rebecca,
I'm sorry to hear you have "vomiting issues." I hope that goes away in time. I've never vomited in the 9 months since my surgery. I don't know how I got that lucky. Eating is so easy for me it worries me about long term success. I guess that is why I am such an exercise nut now.
I loved your description of the water aerobics maneuvers. Very funny! I am going to try and make it to a water aerobics class tomorrow. I really love it. I feel skinny (except for the loose skin) in the water. What a great feeling!
Keep up the good work Rebecca!
