I am really really on my way now.

I am getting excited I went to my doctors appointment today which all we did was talk. I went all the way to my doctor appointment to talk to my doctor. Which was fine we talked about the bible because I am currently studying for my degree. We talked about my husband and friends. I shared a couple of stories. She then tells me that if the insurance company calls me to make sure I tell them I have been on a diet through her office. I was like ok that fine so she leaves the office to go and find a copy of a meal plan for me. When she comes back she said this is what the insurance requires before surgery. So I deiced to ask her well how long to you think it will take before I will have surgery. She proceeded to tell me she wasn't sure because she has never dealt with my medical group. Well I already know the answer to the question which is cool and none of that other stuff is required so it looks like in the next few weeks I will be getting ready for surgery. I just have to remember to keep my mind focused on the prize. I will keep you posted and new things develop. Lorraine

Hi Lorraine, Your doctor sounds like a wonderful person. She sounds very supportive. I'm jealous! My primary care doc was a total flake. If it wasn't for my doc's nurse...I would still be trying to get the surgery approved. My insurance company needed documentation of every doctor visit of the 6 month required diet. In other words... a separate paper needed to be filled out with the date and the weight of that day, along with a "plan of action" for the following month. The doctor was supposed to witness each weigh-in and sign it. I felt like a kid in grammar school having my parents sign my report card. If I missed a dr. appt weigh-in for that month..I had to start over again. Can you say "humiliating"? The whole thing was so stupid and it made no sence. Don't let the insurance companies win, let's face it..they don't want to pay for your surgery...Sorry for the rant, a SMO never forgets!!! Best luck on your journey and speedy approval! HugsGinger
