So far I have never seen, nor I take out more than 40 cc of fluid. This morning I had 3 ounces of fluid in my pratt. is that normal or do you think I have a leak. Had no leak when I left the hospital two days ago. love marie

Marie Good morning, Glad to see you posting so soon. How are you feeling today? I have no idea how much fluid is suppose to be in your pratt. I would say if it keep doing it to call your doctor on Monday to see what he says. I was just checking the board before I jumped intot he shower. My DH left to take my sis, bro-in-law & bro back to their trucks. And then were headed to Columbia for my appointment on Monday. I am hoping by the time I leave his office I will know if I have a date or not. I will let you know when I get home. Take it easy and I hope everything is okay with your pratt. Please let me know what happens okay?? Have a good day!!! Melissa

Marie, Sorry I cant help you with the JP tube.. My doc didnt have us measure or keep track of it.. I was told to just make sure to empty it everyday.. Im not sure how much is normal either. I had quite a bit for a couple days, then it dropped off to almost nothing.. Check with your surgeon to be certain. Never hurts to ask to be safe.. Amber

Rie Rie, it isn't really the amount of fluid but the color of it. It should be gradually getting lighter and lighter. Theoretically it should be less fluid as well, but I find that they just sort of drain what you have to drain. Good luck. It will be out before you know it. ****debra

Yeah my aunt told me it was the color. I just thought I might have forced to much water and sprung a leak. but I fell fine today and the thing has slowed down. And I figured out that hot liquids go down easier. thanks.

Let me guess!! you moved around a little more yesturday. In the first few days the more you move the more comes out (this is good you do not want that stuff in there) but I agree with one of the other posts, you need to keep an eye on the color and thickness. Deb

I think it was because I sleep a couple hours laying on the bed. Guess it needed to come out anyway. I was just so uncomfortable trying to get fluids in and thought maybe I had over done it. I am fine today and the fluids go down easier hot I have noticed. thanks
