SAD
Cathy,
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother ... you and your family are in my prayers.
I went through a similar experience 3 years ago, when my older brother died suddenly. I was much the same ... unable to cry, just rather stunned at the whole thing. I even made it through the whole service and burial ... waiting for the flood of tears but they never came. It was only after all the visitors left and all the turmoil of the whole thing was over with that it all overwhelmed me, and I truly dealt with the fact he was gone from my life.
We all deal with grief in our own ways and one is never a fool when showing love and hurt at the loss of a loved one. You will be in my thoughts, and I wish you comfort and solace as you go through the process of this grief.

Dear Cathy -
I am so sorry for your loss -- it is very hard to lose a sibling. My older brother died nearly two years ago and many times it seems like yesterday. As others have said, please do not worry about making a fool of yourself -- we can't plan how we'll grieve...it just happens...that is how your heart and soul shows grief. Take care of yourself first, your family second-that's easier said then done; but you can't take care of them without taking care of you first. Enjoy the happy, loving memories of your brother...these memories will help you to cope with the sad images of how the cancer took over him and will help you to face the days ahead. You and your family are in my prayers and may you find comfort knowing your brother is no longer in pain - rather he is at peace and walking hand in hand with the Lord.

Hi Cathy,
I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Life doesn't always seem fair but it's all a part of it. How and when do you cry? When you want to ... where you want to no matter who is around or if you're alone. Don't feel you're ever making a fool of yourself. Just remember, as sad as it is, everyone has to deal with this at one time or another. I don't know you ... yet ... but I doubt you'd ever consider anyone a fool in the same situation so why should you feel anyone would think it of you?
Eat up the comfort from your family and friends and, most importantly, the comfort of God that will come from all the prayers being said ... mine included.
