Thank you all for your kind words when my DB died .Cancer takes alot out of every one around. I did well during the funeral, I opened myself up to cry, still not many tears, but I feel at peace with his passing . Now its time for me to get serious about weight loss and quiting smoking. My insurance wont pay for surgery or any thing related to weight loss help, they say its my DH jobs fault the HR dept says its the insurance fault. I dont know how to fight this . I am going to try measuring all my food , only eating serving sizes, and not skipping meals. Diets have never worked for me in the long run ,so I hope this will. If any of you have any ideas that could help PLEASE tell me. Thanks again you are truly a wounderful group of people !! Cathy Cashman

Cathy, I got caught in one of those Insurance's fault vs Employer's fault situations too ... with BCBS. FIGHT!! Get your doctor to fight for you too. I ended up changing insurance coverage because of my disability status, so it all became a moot point for me when Medicare approved the surgery, but months were wasted on this argument with BC and my ex-employer. I've seen where others (on the main board) fought this exact situation and won. Have you checked there yet for an answer? I read a woman's (she's a lawyer) profile, and she was very detailed on how she fought this and won ... and now (sorry) I've forgotten her name. Perhaps she might answer a question on the main board, however. All best wishes and prayers for you and don't give up the fight!! Myra

My PCP is against WLS .I am thinking of changing Dr`s. I really like him he cares alot BUT he knows the struggles I have . I think he needs to educate himself more on WLS.
