Has my Echo and stress test today and it showed what the tech called a "minor atrial arrhythmia" that happens sometimes when my heart is beating - it does not happen with every beat, and is noticeable when I exercise. Let me know

I'll start by saying I don't have any advice for you. I just wanted to say that I have the same thing, and I'm having my stress echo next week, so I'm looking forward to the answer as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us that we'll still be able to have this surgery. Good luck!

I had someone in the chat room tell me that we should still be able to have surgery - it may or may not be delayed, but it should still happen.

I CANNOT tell you how glad I am that I saw this post. My doctors have been juggling ideas back and forth what might be wrong with my heart. Last week I was told I actually had a minor heart attack. I wonder if I have the same thing you guys have?! I haven't had my stress test yet only the EKG. I am so confused about this and none of these docs want to give a straight forward answer. Thank you soooo much for posting, I am definitely going to bring this up to my doctor. Please let me know what you find out about it. Hugs, Jamie

Well Myra I wish I knew.. No one seems to agree on what's wrong with me. The first round of docs said no..no heart attack..we'll do another EKG nothing to worry about, this one says yes minor heart attack nothing to worry about!! I'd just really like to know what is going on. I'm crossing my fingers when I call the surgeon today he will have some answers for me. He was supposed to go over my EKG's with his staff. Thank you for thinking of me HUGS, Jamie

I have had episodes of Atrial fibrillation and Atrial tachycardia since I was in my 20's and I am now 51. Obviously each person and Dr is different. I have even had cardioversion 3 times where they take the paddles to you and zap you so you have a normal rythymn and all I had to do was have a few extra tests done by my cardiologist and get his clearance and my surgeon was fine with the surgery. Thank God it went off without a hitch. I will always have the irregular heart beat but it is so much less pronounced than it used to be due to I'm sure the decrease in strain on my heart since I have begun losing the weight. Hang in there and good luck.
