I am 8 months post op today. I have lost from 425 to 309. I have been stuck at 309 for TWO frikken MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!! I have not done anything different, I dont get it, the stupid scale will not move and I used to not even bother with the scale but since the plateau i cant stay away. I dont understand what im doing wrong...can anyone give me some idea of how many calories they are getting? My nut says dont go over 800 a day and I usually dont but i have a hard time getting that in. i began to graze on soy chips, pork skins and peanuts. I try very hard to not have these but i do consume quite a bit of it. I have been dealing with a messed up knee, i do walk but not as much as i should and my kneee needs surgery. I really hope i havnent stopped loosing, i would absolutley die if i did. Maybe im looking for some hope? I dont understand what im doing wrong, the grazing has to stop. Thats probably whats keeping the platueau. Help

WOW! You have done great so far! Youve lost quite a bit of weight and your not done yet!! You just need to get things right- STOP GRAZING!! Just kidding- well not really but ohh well.. I do understand the grazing so well. I have that horrible habit too and Ive been working on it for a couple months now.. Its a very hard habit to break but Im getting there. Try to get the grazing under control and things will improve. Have you had another follow up with your nut? I know every program is different so by no means am I saying "mine is better"- I had to up my calories to 1000 a day when I got about 6 months out. My body was in starvation mode and was hanging onto every bit of weight that it could. Once I got more calories in I dropped 10lbs in a week!! You might want to check with your nut and see if maybe you need more food. Amber

you're doing really, really well, donna. i agree with previous posts, but would like to add that your body may just be adjusting to it's changes. by all means - stop grazing. it's the downfall of wls patients. for sure, check with your nutritionist about a slight increase in calories. but please, please, please don't consider this the end result. you've still got lots of your 'window of opportunity' left, not to mention the fact that this is a lifetime tool. anytime you choose to follow the rules you will lose again. sometimes the changes are more subtle - a looser fit, a lighter step, etc... but you are doing really well. try going back and reading about the beginning of your journey. you've done very well and i hope you celebrate your successes, and the fact that you're not done having them. hugs dorthe

I had a very long stall as well. it near drove me crazy. The nut suggested i change up my diet and exercise also to up my protien. she put me on 4 protien shakes a day. After 3 days the scale started to move and I lost 8 lb that week. ALL I did was add a shake and change my workout. is that crazy or what? But it worked. Just know you are not the only one having these stalls. We all have them at one time or another. Deb 392/284/180
