Ho every one, I have not been on in a while, working and vacationing excc... I am 4 months out, on a positive note I have lost 100 pounds, but I fear this is the end of it. Some how I am slipping into my old eating habbits, and I know it, yet am not changing it. I have been eating sandwiches, ( finger rolls) but still bread, crackers, pepperoni, I can eat a whole lean pocket. I had cerial today, and just like the old days, when I was done and there was still milk in the bowl I poured more raisen bran, I have not had sugars..to afraid to dump, but the carbs are getting to me. I promised myself last night I would go back to basics today, well I woke up and had a finger roll, a little corned beef and cabbage, and some cheese. I was so full and uncomfortable after. I am jst praying that this isn't it for me. The MD said this surgery is only good for the 1st 100 pounds, I hope I am capable of working for the rest. Thank you all for being here xoxox Gloria

Just put your self back in the grove. You know you need your protien, water, vit's and exercise. Go back to basics and you will suceed. We all cheat now and again. The main thing is to get back on track. And this surgury will help you as long as you use it correctly. (no stuffing yourself) I have never heard it only helps for the first 100 lb. I have always heard it helps for 6-14 months depending on how you treat your pouch. I may be wrong but I know it is sill helping several of my friends who have lost much more than 100lb. I will keep you in my prayers, Deb 392/284/180

Thank you, it was my surgeon that said the surgery is good for the 1 st 100 pounds, meaning that it is a given I would loose at least that, but the rest I must work for, I ?? him as he said it to me in the hospital right before surgery I almost backed out..but I understand now, I was over 400 pounds, and I was going to loose this 100 pounds, just from having the surgery. But now I can eat, and I must really make this tool work. xoxox Gloria

My doctor states that the window of opportunity is 18-24 months. Don't beat yourself up for past cheating. Start right now and start over - just get into the groove with protein, water, EXERCISE, vitamins, and the right foods. Remember, we all will cheat at some point, we just need to not make it a lifetime habit. You can do it and we are here to support you! I know you will also be there to support me when I need it!

Gloria, This isnt the end for you! You can see what is going on, you know what the problem is, and you can make the changes to continue on to have much more success.. It sounds so easy to say "Im going to change this or that", but actually doing it is another story. Only you can make the decision to change the things that you need to. I have struggled from the very beginning with my food demons. I have always been a carb freak! Bread, Pasta, Rice! Ohh my! They were my down falls before surgery and they still are my down falls! Luckily from the start bread, pasta and rice (I assume) have made me very very ill, so I didnt have to worry about it. But in the past 2 months I found I can have small amounts of bread or pasta without getting sick. Now I have to fight to keep myself away from them! I missed them so much some days-other days I didnt even think of them. I finally got with my nut about it all.. What has worked for me the past 2 months is allowing myself to have things in moderation! If I have a bowl of cereal, I measure out what Im going to eat and then when its gone- its gone!! Same with pasta- a measured amount and when its gone- its gone!! I keep my cravings under control that way. For me depriving myself completely of something that I want causes me to go overboard in time. If I feed my cravings with small amounts then I do fine.. And I have found that I crave things much less now.. For me, if its forbidden then I want it, I need it, and Im going to have it!! As long as I know I can have anything that I want in moderation then I dont crave nearly as much! My brain is my worst enemy when it comes to food! Try talking with your nut about ways to manage the cravings. Sometimes they can give you suggestions that will help. If your nut knows you very well he/she may be able to help you come up with a way to feed your cravings in a controled manner. Thats what my nut did with me. Do your best. Your not perfect- your going to have days when you screw up! Accept that and learn ways to deal with those days. Your not going to overcome years of eating poorly just by having surgery on your stomache- the easy part is over now, its now time to work on your brain! Thats much harder then the actual surgery. (atleast for me it is!) Good luck! Amber M*

awww you are so sweet, and thank you so much. I will start over right now, I can't beat myslef up, or I will have that same sick mindset before surgery. I never want to feel that way again. I have the 100 calorie packs of goldfi****hink I will limit myself to one a day, it gives the carb craving and portion controll. Thank you Gloria

Hi Gloria, Stop beating yourself up over this. You are human, and changing a lifelong habit is hard. You just have to remember why you did this and stay focused on your goal. I am 19 mos out and still losing. I lose slowly, but I have to work at it every day. Just try to stay with protien first, then fruit or vegtables, then your carbs as in potatoes or bread. By then you should be to full to eat the bad carbs. Give yourself one day a week to eat a sandwich or something that you want but dont really need. It is not easy, but it is doable. Just remember all of us out here that are in the same boat as you and try to picture us watching you eating and trying to support you and what we would say if we were there. Hopefully that will help you. Good luck and keep focused. Hugs, Soos

hi gloria: just wanted to chime in, too, and let you know you're doing really well. we've all slipped and had to get back to it. we're human. i'm living proof more than the first 100lbs is possible. i was dow a little more than 150 in the first year. yes, the rest will go more slowly, especially with a cast on for right now. but i still have my tool - and you do too. it's gonna be ok, girl. just give yourself permission to forgive you and start again. water, protein, move... rinse-repeat ***no wait - i'm confused LOL don't be too hard on yourself, gloria. just keep trying, ok? hugs dorthe

Hi Gloria Hope you spirits are up! Sometimes I feel like I'm a mess and not doing everything in my power to looses this weight. Bad habits for me come back in hartbeat. The only thing I can do is to keep a VERY busy schedule. Work, work work, and help everyone with projects, and basicly run myself crazy with activities. And I go to curves, I have to get up and go or I eat myself out of house and home! I don't know if this helps. Take care hun, Amanda PS I have to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE
