OT stitches out, new cast on
hi everyone. thanks for the jokes and stuff you've been sending me. i appreciate the thoughtfulness and wanted to update on my situation.
i finally get my stitches out tomorrow and get a second cast put on my foot. it'll be on for at least 2-3 more weeks - sure am glad the weather got better. then i'll be ready for a walking cast.
hopefully by mid may i will be cast free because i want to get on my bicycle for at least a few times before the first week in june. that's when my daughters and i take our motorcycle safety class.!!!
that's about it for now. other than that, not much for news.
hugs

already got the tattoos. a yellow rose on my right ankle for my 45th birthday present to me, and a praying angel on my left shoulder in memory of my father, who died last july.
hope your days are going better. working full time really does bite into your on line time, doesn't it.
take it easy, girl.
talk to you soon.

hi mary:
they fixed the bunion, snipped the plantar fascia ligament, ground down the bone spur in the heel, and broke the big toe in three spots to straighten out the foot. my big toe was growing toward my little toe.
i had been having foot pain for a long, long time and blaming it on my weight. (450) but after i lost 170 and was having more pain because i was trying to exercise, i had to have it repaired.
just glad they can fix it. should be done by early to mid may.
fingers crossed.

Hey Dorthe
Wow I'm sorry to hear about your foot
That sounds like a heck of a surgery. It sounds like you are going to be off of your feet for awhile.
My friend Joyce just had foot surgery before I left California. It almost sounds like the same surgery. She always had to find wide width shoes and her feet always hurt. She had to stay off of her feet for some time but she better now.
I hope your foot feels better as fast as hers did--her recovery was rapid
Mary
