TIRED OF WAITING!!!!
First I want to say that I find this board very soothing. It's not easy for me to open up to people and speak about feelings and personal things, but you guys make it so easy.
So now, the rant, I am so tired of waiting on bcbs of NJ to give me an approval letter, I don't know what to do. I just want to cry
I keep reading other people post who got approval with the same insurance in such a short period of time. When will I get mine? I'm starting to worry that they will not approve me and that's why it's taking so long. I have a BMI of 67 or something close to that + high blood pressure and have an appointment on 4/28 for a sleep apnea test. I called them today and spoke with someone named Bob who was not very friendly and kept telling me that they can take up to 30 days and I just need to "be patience" and I should call back in about 1.5 weeks. I told him that I know what their time period is, but I AM THE CUSTOMER and I will call back as often as I want to in order to check the status.
Anyway, I just really want to know something now. I just pray that they approve me because I don't know how much longer I can take this.
OK vent over.
Hey Lurnia,
Bless your heart is all I can say. I have bcbs of ga and they tell you they have thirty days and dang it they ment it to. I called them suckers every day.... And after 1538 times lol they gave me an approval. It was the most unreal feeling to have someone else have your life in there hands. I still say that they just dont get it and should treat people better. But let me tell ya this lurnia, everytime you call its someone else so just call and bug the crap out of them and then when they do tell ya that you are approved you demand your approval number so can give to the dr's office to get the ball rolling faster.I called in the mornings and afternoons before they closed. My husband has been a civil service employee for twenty five years and we shouldnt have to be treated like that after all the insurance money we spend.I know how you feel so just hang in there and ill be thinking of you.
Hugs Marge
Hi Lurnia,
I had Blue Cross Blue Shield of Empire (New York) It took them a long time for approval. I well remember the frustration when it seemed like everyone was gettting approval except for me. It's not that I wasn't happy for them...cause I was. I guess that it is just a natural thing to be jealous when somebody gets something that you so despirately need and want. It sometimes feels like everything is in slow motion, and that the "desk jockeys" just don't get it!! They don't "get" that with a little extra effort on their parts..you can get going planning your own life..which they in a sence hold in their hands.
Lurnia, please don't assume that the longer they take.....the higher the chances are that you won't get approved. I am convinced that these people are "trained" to stall you, give you more hoops to jump through, just so you will give up and walk away from the possibility of having this life saving surgery. It's not about you personally, It's about the almighty dollar. I'm only trying to encourage you...I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant of some sorts against the insurance co. I am greatful for my insurance company..there is no way I could have afforded the $76,000 and some change if I would have had this done out of pocket.
Hugs and smiles,
Ginger
