I got the call from the insurance department at Barix today and I have been approved for surgery. I was shocked to hear back so quickly as it was only last Wednesday that they started the process of getting me approved (my consult was only 2 weeks ago). I wasn't in any rush to get approval because I have to have a colonoscopy on Thursday because of pain in my side (an upper endoscopy showed nothing...no ulcers, etc) and my surgeon wants those results sent to him before going ahead with surgery. So, throughout all of this, I have been pretty laid back and patient with it all, but when I heard the message that I have been approved, I started to cry. It was like something had been lifted off my shoulders that I hadn't even realized was there. Or, maybe I reacted that way because after fighting with my weight for so long and failing over and over, I finally have hope again. Heather

Congrats on hearing so quickly and getting approved. I believe everything is going to be great. I had a colonoscopy a year ago and it was nothing. The worst part was the prep. Just think, soon you'll be on the losing side and hopefully I'll be joining you.
