Okay had a rough night last night but decided to sleep on the couch tonight. My bed is too high to try to climb in and out of it. Staples burn a little bit and not getting much in. I can actually feel the water hit bottom and it's not a pleasant feeling so taking it easy. My hubby has been waiting on me hand and foot and he's been great. Haven't had a shower yet think I might wait until feeding tube and staples come out. I'm just shuffling around waiting to feel like me again or at least able to do some stuff. I tried turkey baby food today and gagged so that went in the trash. Hubby is making stew for dinner might try that but sticking with applesauce, jello, and isopure ready to drink for now. Talk with you all soon!! THANK YOU AMBER FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT ANGEL!!! Hugs, Jamie PS The Gas is the worst..lol BUT you get to toot whenever you want and no one bats and eyelash!!

Jamie!! I'm so glad to see your post and know you're doing ok! Just take everything slow ... movements, eating, drinking. Pretend you're in slo-mo for a while and pamper yourself!! I slept in the recliner for the first few nights after I was finally home, and that helped alot. At first it seems nothing tastes good but broth and such, but it will all become routine very soon. Sprinkle your unflavored protein powder in cooled down broth to help you get your protein amounts in until you're able to eat more solid stuff. Get some SF popsicles (Popsicle brand ... they're the best!!) and use them as your free best friend for a while. I couldn't get enough of them, and they were great stand-ins when I needed something in my pouch that was cool and soothing. Right now you want things that are very very moist and that will slide down as easily as water. Laughing at the "tooting" thing! (((hugs))) ... so glad you're back with us! Myra G

Hi Jamie, Glad your posting. It will take time to feel yourself again, but hang in there. You waited so long for this to happen, now relax and sip and walk. The walking will help the tooting go away faster. You will soon be running around instead of shuffling. Hugs, Soos

Jamie, My doctor had me on clear liquids for one week after surgery, then full liquids for 3 weeks. It helps your pouch heal better... Hope you get to feeling better soon! Lori
