Gym Is Open (Thursday)
Hi Lori,
I have knee wraps that can be heated in the microwave that my husband gave me sometime ago. They work for me--I think they are kinda like those herbal wraps. But instead of fragrance and all that they are just gym wraps that heat your knees.
Knee pain is my downfall when it comes to exercising. Even more so since I have gained all this weight.
Can you do other stuff like swim or something? Just until your knee stops hurting? You are doing so well...... I am cheering for you.

Mary,
This knee problem has been a great reminder of the pain I used to be in at all times before my surgery. I was unable to exercise due to pain. So, it should help encourage me now, right?
I think I'll try and find the knee wraps though, they sound like a good idea.
I did get a doctor's appt today to get my synvisc shots, but, insurance won't let me have them until April 24...so tomorrow, I'm going to do the recumbant bike and Saturday go to water aerobics...I can't let it stop me!

Hi Lori,
Orthopedic pain is the worst pain I have been told.
When I was in my mid thirties I gained this much weight but I was able to take it off by walking and exercise. I was 298 and dropped down to 235 on my own but it took lots of exercise. I remember when my knees used to hurt--I'd get frustrated because I couldn't walk or do my leg lifts. I still have pretty good legs but my knees are the worst
I can't do at 44 what I did at 36--too bad. I did other stuff to exercise while I was waiting for my knees to heal.
No don't let your knees stop you--find something else to do. I read your profile--you have come so far.....
Mary
Good for you Diana! I'd like to try the gazelle once I'm back in fighting shape.
The synvisc shots will help my knees. I found out yesterday I can start my series of shots (you get one a week for 3 weeks) on April 24. Insurance won't cover it before that. It costs about $2700 for the series, so I need to wait. My knee is doing a bit better since I've rested it.
