Any Complications
Hi TT
I had some initial complications from surgery (see profile) and was in 3 different hospitals in the first 18 days post-op. I ended up switching my post-op care to another Bariatric program and surgeon and it was the best thing I could have done. He "fixed" everything, and I've felt great since. Have had a stomal ulcer that wouldn't heal for a long time, caused by an "errant suture" (his words) from my WLS that caused irritation and that had a trailing end going down into my intestine. Once the BS trimmed that all away (through endo), the ulcer healed nicely. Am dealing with "Late Dumping Syndrome" right now, but have been assured it will pass fairly swiftly too.
At first I didn't want to answer your post ... didn't want to present anything negative at all. But I didn't think you asked to be placated with just "surgery was great" answers. Would I do this again for myself? IN A HEARTBEAT!!! It WAS a rough initial few weeks. I thought I'd made the worst mistake I could have made ... but within weeks of recovering I knew I'd done the RIGHT thing. I'm with Dorthe on giving this over to God ... it's exactly what I did too. He wouldn't have gotten me *to* the surgery if it wasn't what I was *supposed* to do ... and I knew He'd see me *through* whatever was ahead.
all the very best to you,
Myra G
Hello ~T~
I had several complication after my surgery. I was on the ventilator for a day after surgery. I ended up with an infection in the wound. They had to take the staples out and i needed aggressive wound care. I am still working on the wound to get it closed up. My surgery was January 23 rd. My recovery was rough but i had a surgery weight of 602 lbs. I knew it wasn't going to be a cake walk but i feel better today then i have felt in years. Every day is always a little better then the last. And even the little positive changes make you feel so euphoric. You may have some problems but the good days are so good you don't care about the bad ones. I have no regrets.
With Love,
