I went to a water aerobics class this morning, my knee complained, but, I got through it! What did you do to move your body today? Lori 384/245/168

I had a totally self-indulgent Friday ... only went to my PACE exercise class, but otherwise no other exercise to speak of. So today I've got some work lined out for myself. Have roses to plant, raking to do, weed-pulling, and housework and laundry. In between I'll work with my stetch bands, weights and do some of my strengthening exercises and later on take a long walk. I will NOT be idle today ... promised myself that. One day, ok ... two or more, no way!!! Myra G

Any advice for a week out patient? I had open rny and still have my staples and feeding tube (don't need it but they keep it in just in case) and I was wondering what everyone did in the first few weeks after surgery to get in exercise? Thanks, Jamie

Jamie, My doctor had me take at least a 5 min walk around the house each hour I was awake. It helps. But, if you have a stomach binder, be sure to wear it when you walk, it will keep the stress off the staples. Lori

I use a stationary arm bike since my knees are in bad shape. I revised my exercise goal to do one mile of arm bike every day. I thought that 1.06 kms were equal to a mile, but I found out it's actually 1.60! This meant I had to do 3360 cycling reps instead of 2200! I made it, but boy, am I tired! Kix

Kix, Good for you! I can so relate to bad knees...but, like you I'm trying to keep moving regardless! I'm sitting here at my radio show smelling to high heaven like icy hot! Lori 384/245/168

Well my 10 k got postponed till tomarrow. But did I ever move today, Started the day off with a 2 mile nature hike. then went shopping for enough fresh vegies to feed 50 people, then I prepared the vegies and made 4 large trays. then I took them to a old fashion sock hop. I must have danced to 50's music for 2 maybe 2.5 hours. Man it was fun. I think I got my exercise in. Deb 392/270/180
