I had a great great Easter, and I hope all you did as well...... Just curious, what did everyone do..... I cooked as usual, I'm the chief cook and bottle wash, and I enjoy it emensly {did I spell that right ?}; well anyway, I started cooking on Saturday afternoon, and finished up yesterday afternoon.... On Saturday I prepared an almost traditional Bayou Blast Crawfish Boil, but darn it, I forgot to add the sausage, oh well!!!! I also fried some Red Snapper Fish and some extra large Prawns, mmmmm the fish was tasty..... Saturday night, I prepared the several heads of cabbage needed for Sunday's dinner { I wanted to prepare greens with the cabbage, but the market was clean out of them, I searched everywhere}; that night I colored Easter Eggs and prepared an Easter Basket for my grandson {awww so cute}.... Sunday morning I arose {Thanks to God's mercy}; and began to prepare a feast, I prepared a sprial cut ham, with a most wonderul homemade glaze, steamed cauliflower and broccoli in a garlic and herb sauce, we also had canndied yams, of course the cabbage, along with fried chicken, mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy {which I didnt make myself, because I cant make gravy, my mom's an expert, but I just cant catch on, so its canned/bottled gravy or nothing}; biscuits, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, two kinds of cake, and ice cream, jello jiggler eggs, and I think that's it.... I absolutely love to cook, I've always enjoyed it, now that I cant eat all that wonderful food anymore, people thought that I would stop cooking, luckily for them I still love to cook, I'm okay with the fact that I cant eat any of it, I did try some mashed potatoes and gravy and a tiny bit of ham, bearly enough to feed my grandson, but I was happy.... But you know the real joy I have is having friends and family around and enjoying a good meal, and of course their company, to me cooking is the soul of the family, everyone can appreciate a good meal.... So what is your families tradition.......?

HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLOOOOOOO!!!! Latricia, I am from San Francisco too--I used to live South of Market a block off of Mission and South Van Ness. I love The City and all the wonderful things that it has to offer. It is good to see a fellow SF person on this board I used to work at UCSF a long time ago--excellent facility. I don't live there anymore because we moved to Minnesota this past February. Believe it or not Minneapolis, Minnesota has all the charm of being in The City We travel on the holidays so I guess that is our family tradition. We don't have any childern except for my son who is 26 years old and still lives in California. I love to cook too even though I only cook for two people. This year I had the pleasure of meeting a new friend and going to a place that I have always wanted to visit all my life--it was fabulous Easter! Mary

Being from Texas and all, we hunted easter eggs with the grand-daughter, pulled all the vehicles up on the lawn and washed cars all afternoon, then had a good ol' fashion BBQ with ribs, burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans and beer...... Yours truly had a 2 bites of a lean boneless beef rib, half a burger patty with cheese, a deviled egg and a bite of potato salad, sans the beer! Karen

Hey Latricia, Well two of my children live in different states (tex,ms) so just the middle daughter and her husband and my two grandchildren (2,5). We had threw around eatting out one time and then a low country boil then I descided to cook after all. I have never ate out on easter and didnt want to start now so we cooked way to much food. Had spiral ham, green beans w bacon/potatoes, turnip greens, hashbrown casserole, dressing, squash casserole, corn souffle, lace cornbread, rolls, pineapple upside down cake, and peanut butter brownies. I ate just the squash casserole. But oh well was great day. Flew kites and blew bubbles and took pictures and video'd the kids. First holiday since surgery so went very well. No bad food for me. Hugs Marge
