Pannectomy? Any Ideas!

I know we talk about this all the time. But does anyone have any ideas on how to get BCBS HMO to pay for it. What doctor do I need to go to or info on Insurance? Thanks deb of GA

Hi Deb! I hope you are doing well. I have a BCBS HMO and they will not pay for a pannectomy unless I have demonstrated skin problems (like staph infectiions or rashes under the skin flap) that can't be treated. This has to be documented over time by your primary care physician. I still have so much to lose, but, I know that I will need this. The apron of skin is terrible.... Good luck! Hey Deb, Long time no yak lol.... Its funny that you brought this up. Me and Tanja was just talking about this today. It looks so much easier on Dr. 90210( my fav show).. They show just the first few days and then skips to weeks later. Man its gotta be painful but I think by the time its all over I would like to get rid of the stomach flapping if ya know what I mean. I also have bcbs of ga and man, I dont know jack about getting approved. I can tell ya this. If they dont cover some of it I wouldnt be having it done. Its thousands I am sure. You better let me know how you have been and whats up with your profile sister......
