New here
Hello,
I am new to the message board here. I am in the process of the pre-op testing. I have 3 down and 4 to go. I still have the sleep study, cardiac test, psych eval, and upper endoscopy ahead of me. I am 29 and weighed 453 when I went to the information session (I was shocked... I had not weighed in years) I have had back pain since August and stumbled upon surgery info online. I am excited and nervous about everything. I have weighed over 300lbs since I was 13 so I have no idea what I would look like at a simi normal weight. I am praying that it will fall into place and be the turning point of my life. Any words of wisdom?
Hi Shellie!
You've found the most wondermous group of people in the world here at BMIover50 ... S'mores as we like to refer to ourselves ... SMOers.
You'll definitely find the answers you need here ... everyone's experienced the gamut of the WLS process and someone will usually have information you need. Welcome to our home-away-from-home!!!

Hello Shellie,
Welcome to the board. This is a great board
with people that understand. Good luck with
the rest of your pre-op testing. Best wishes
on your journey.
I started out with a bmi of 62 and now it is 28.
This surgery is the best thing I have ever done.
I wish I would have done it sooner.
Take care,
Diana

Welcome Shellie!
This is a scary process, but, so life-saving and life-changing. I had my surgery 11 months ago. I've lost 140 lbs. I started with a bmi of 57.1 and now it is in the low 30s...it seems like a miracle. But, there is a lot of responsibility that comes with WLS...any of us are happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Hey Shellie,
Welcome aboard.. Can't think of a better place to be than here. Everybody is so supportive and we all whine from one time or another and we all have our feeling low days also. So things will get over before you know it and will be on the road to a healthier life soon. Hang in there.
Hugs Marge
