Fabulous "Last Supper"
I'm scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, May 2, so last night was my last supper. I've been on 1,000 calories/day since April 2 and I'm on clear liquids until my surgery. So, my surgeon gave me permission for a "Last Meal." I made plans with my fiance', Glenn, to eat dinner at a local restaurant. Well, when we get there, Glenn requested and upstairs table, (which kinda pissed me off, cause I hate the stairs), but I made it up the stairs and round the corner and there are like 30 of my friends, family and co-workers sitting ther to enjoy my last meal with me.
Glenn is HORRIBLE at keeping secrets, but he finally figured out how to do it cause I was completely shocked! Everybody was so supportive and excited for me. I feel truly blessed to have all these people in my corner behind me.
I ordered fish for dinner, but because my appetite is so reduced by the diet, I only ate maybe a 1/3 of it. But, being with all my friends made it truly special. Some other friends were in the Bar
downstairs and when they heard what was going on, they came upstairs to give their good wishes as well.
Again, I feel so blessed and I just wanted to share my experience with my new SMO friends. Now if I can just make it thorough the next 3 days without killing somebody, I'll have it made. Chicken broth for breakfast just plain sucks!
