nipples and surgery

Does any one have any experiences with surgery and body piercings. How long they had to have it out? and When were you able to put it back in?

I got the answer about my nipple ring as well. Doctor said to have it out before surgery ( he doesn't like to remove them) and that I could put it back in anytime once I am in my room. He just prefers not to be asked to help put it back in. He was sweet. I think I will have my mom do it.

Any time you are going to have surgery they (doctors) will ask you to remove them. This is in case of an emergency. They cant shock you or anything with metal in your skin. Not to be morbid or anything, just stating the facts. You will be able to put them back in at any time after surgery. ~Rachel

Hi All! WELL! This is nice information to know. At least now I know to not have my other nipple re-pierced until after the surgery. I might as well wait until I get the cosmetic body reconstruction done before replacing the one that migrated out. I still have one, so I'll be planning on the temporary removal of it. Thanks for the info. I would not have thought about it. I'm glad I checked in here.
