Topic: Bad girl.. but back on track - MONDAY
Ok this weekend was a total wash. We didn't end up working out at all. I thought I would at my mom's house in Jersey but the ride just wiped us out. I did really good at my cousins surprise party. Family and friends came from all over the place. I got lots of compliments as it was the first time they have seen me since my surgery. The party was at a country club on a beautiful golf course. Ton of fun! Kind of like a Bar Mitzvah or wedding for a 50 year old. His wife hired a DJ, professional dancers, and it was all done in NY Yankees theme with these really nifty old school baseball center pieces. Greg Nettles (old Yankee from 70 - 80's era) came and signed baseballs that said "Happy 50th Scott" on them. The dancers started out in Yankee Cheerleader outfits and had a couple other costumes during the evening, salsa, Broadway NY, NY style, etc. I did really good with the food. Took my time, had a couple bites of some very yummy cheese and a cracker but passed on all the butlered Hors d'Oeuvres. They had some guy stadium style tossing out bags of cracker jacks and I passed on those with no problem. For the sit down meal I had some lettuce greens and then ate just a few oz of chicken with very little sauce on it. The cake looked fantastic but I didn't have any and ordered some sugar free ice cream. The waiter brought this huge amt but I managed to just eat a few bites and was totally satisfied. I felt victorious to be able to be out at an event and not feel deprived or the need to overeat. Here is the bad girl part.... so on the way back home on Sunday we hit a ton of traffic and decided to stop for some food on the ride home. I had already eaten about a ful pint of blueberries while sitting in traffic for 3 hours but wanted to stop for some "real" food. We stopped at Burger King! I had one tiny bite of Dana's whopper, about 10 french fries, and the top half of the bread with a little cheese on it.... I was so ill. I think I must have temporarily lost my mind thinking I could get away with eating that. I didn't really but my stomach burned and I was in pain and sweating. As soon as we walked in the door I laid down and slept for about an hour in a half. So this morning is a new day and I am back on track. I still feel a little off from eating poorly yesterday and just tired in general but managed to get through 35 minutes of spinning and 12 sets of upper body stuff. Now I'm having a protein shake. Have a great week!

Jesse, I am still a pre-op for 50 days or so and am hoping that once I am cleared with my PCP that I'll be able to get in the kind of shape that you are in. That is my goal even though I am a woman, I believe that it is possible for me to be buff and still feminine (sp). I was just talking with my hubby today that it would be nice to get buff and hopefully not have to have so much plastic surgery if any at all. I have around 240 pounds to loose here though. So, what ever advice ya'll can give, I'd greatly appreciate it. Feel free to look at my profile, not a problem. I do plan on hireing a personal trainer once I am cleared so that I have the guidance I need each and every time I need it. Ya'll have a great night. Deb from Montana
