Glad to hear it isn't something major and they have a plan on treatment. Hopefully the shot works and then no need for removal. Swimming is so good.. I need to get over my bathing suit fears and just do it. Maybe next month. I'm down just over 30lbs now and fitting into smaller sizes. I've had no joint pain with exercise which has been nice.. I'm also not working out as hard though. I'm now doing gym every other day and just some minor walks on the opposite days. Seems to be a good balance for me right now.

glad to hear there isn't any damage to the outer parts but it still stinks that you have to get a shot. Hopefully that is the only one.
My neighbor says the same thing about her pool! But I have a season pass!!!! I helped to dig the hole for the pool and helped to put the rock around it too! I have a life time seasonal pass. LOL My kids have to pay though! Just kidding......I would go broke!

I went to see the hunky sports doc. This is what he told me...
I have a synovial cyst in my knee, and focal nodular synovitis in the anterior compartment which is behind the PCL. Say that three times fast.
He recommended a steroid shot to see if that calms it down. If that doesn't help, then off to the ortho I go.
So, I got my knee injected yesterday, which wasn't all that bad. But today that boogar has ached. I have to "take it easy" for a couple of days, ice as needed. Then I can start doing some mild working out, after a week I can try my powerlifting again. I am supposed to call him back in two weeks if it doesn't help.
So. There ya go. No meniscus or cruciate ligament damage, which is good. There is some signs of osteoarthritis, but that was a given, I am 40 and my knees have taken a beating.
Swimming will be good therapy, if I can chase the brats out of the pool long enough. I told Meagan and Katie that I am going to sell season passes to their friends for swimming.
Gotta pay for the chemicals one way or another.
Have a great one!

I hope they fix it! Well you know they will never admit another doc made a mistake...heaven forbid huh?
Wish her my best.
Sure you can play in my pool anytime!

Hey Val:
Sorry to hear about your knee issues. I hope they can figure out what's going on and take care of it quick so you can be out of pain and back doing what you want to do.
As for the pool.....wow...sounds great!!!! It was 32 degree's at work yesterday and 34 degree's the day before. It snowed, rained, hailed and the wind blew like there was no tomorrow. So, enjoy that pool and don't you worry one bit about those of us still living with arctic weather.

Val, sorry to hear about your knee. Hopefully the contrast will let you know something! My mom is having lap surgery on her knee on the 15th. The doc is fixing what(I believe) the other doc screwed up. But he won't say that.....of course not! Anyhow, I hope you will be up and running soon!
Tammy
PS.....can I come and play in your pool??????
Topic: RE: Knee issues
I hope they clear it up, if it is a bone fragment it is going to feel so good to get it out of there.
It is raining here

Topic: Knee issues
Hi guys.
Well, the knee saga continues. I had an MRI yesterday (that was about as fun as I don't know what) and was planning on a follow up with my hunky sports doc Weds.
I even looked for my report today...nothing. Which was weird because it's all digital in the system fairly quickly.
Well, I get a phone call today from the radiology department. I guess the Radiologist saw something he really didn't like on my the front of my knee, he isn't really sure exactly what it is, so he wants a contrast study done. UGH!
So, tonight I went over and had another MRI this time with contrast. I hope they can figure out what it is. I know the Sports med doc said he thought there was a bone fragment or something in the front there. I think the contrast was to illuminate blood flow and soft tissue. ??? I am no radiology expert at all.
So, I guess I will find out more tomorrow. In the meantime, I didn't get my workout in tonight because they scheduled my MRI for 7pm. Didn't get home from wor****il 5:30, had to change and drop my daughter off at her "sweetie's" baseball game, the back to OSU. Plus I didn't get one in last night because I literally didn't get home until 9:00pm. I left at 8 that morning.
Today I have been up since 5:45...I am whooped...BUT.....
I did get in the pool for the first time this summer!!
aaaaaahhhh a warm 88 degrees. almost like a
No kids...put Seals and Croft in the cd player, did some laps, got my heart rate up, did some resistance training for legs and arms, and then just chilled. It was the most relaxing hour I have had all week.
I even beat Earl in the pool.
It's been in the 90's here for the past few days...I am LOVIN' IT!!!
See ya!
Val
PS thanks for listening to me whine...
