Topic: Stress eating??????
I know I am pre op but I am trying to lose weight until I can get the surgery done.......today there was some more bad news in the health department....for my husband this time..... AND WHAT DID I DO? YOU ASK..................................
Lets just say bread became my companion to deal with the stress. I know you can still stress eat after surgery....so I am asking how do you cope with stress now?? I don't know if anyone ate because of stress, but now is the time when I really need help. I fell off plan and tonight as of right now....I could give a crap whether I got back on or not!
Losing weight is an extremely important thing right now! Basically life or death!
Sorry to gripe an moan and complain, but I am not sure where else to turn. Most people do not understand, but you guys were there and I am sure at least one other person has to be dealing with stress!!!
If you can give any suggestions please let me know.
Tammy

Topic: RE: Fever w/ dumping?
15 minutes after I ate my protein pudding today around 1pm everything started to go downhill again. Really sharp pain on my right side that radiated to my back. I had to leave work. I called my surgeon and told his receptionist. He is suppose to review my lab work and get back to me. I just took pain meds a few minutes ago. I really hope its just gas or at least he makes a decision fast to at least scan me to r/o anything else. I'm having a hard time getting fluids in too. Making me really nauseous. Sucking on Popsicles seems to help a little instead of doing jus****er. =(

I am glad you are feeling better. My youngest has some kind of issue with her gut right now, and I am half bordering on worrying about her appendix. She's been through enough, I am just hoping its a flu of some sort. Just belly pain, low grade temp. No nausea or vomiting, minimal diarrhea if any. Just really bad headache.
I may just take her in to get scanned to be safe.
I took a bite or two, slowly, give it a chance to get into the pouch and see how it settles. Eating too fast will make you dump, and believe me if you are going to be sensitive to it, one or two bites is better than a whole serving. Watch the eggs. A lot of people tend to have problems with them. It was 4 months before I could digest and handle eggs...very crampy, gasey and diarrhea with them. Egg beaters worked much better for me than regular eggs.
Good luck. I think it's better to progress a little on the cautious side myself. Even tho he feels it's ok to press ahead, those of us who have been through it will all agree that taking your time is much better and allows your pouch to fully heal.
Good luck tomorrow!

I think they might frown upon that! I don't think they'd miss me much at home! I know Earl would be like, "What? She's not here? When did she leave?"

The girls would be "PARTY!!! MOM'S OUT OF TOWN!"
That's what scares me the most!

I think we should get to subtract a year for every year after WLS!! =)

Feeling 100% better today. Still no results yet on my blood test but I am sure it will be fine. I bet you anything it was a bug. Someone even suggested food poisioning. Whatever it is I am glad I am back to normal today. Still doing liquids though to be safe. Once I get the all clear I'm back in the gym tomorrow =)
I am also officially suppose to start my soft foods phase now and my surgeon is pushing the real foods. It includes pretty much everything other then raw veggies and the other typical stuff that we can't have ie- grisly meat, etc. Going to introduce one new food at a time per day. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's kind of scary knowing how sensitive my pouch is.
How did you deal with moving to this phase? Did you take a couple bites of a new food and see what happened in 15 minutes or did you just dive in and eat a serving. I guess it depends on the food. My first try tomorrow will be one scrambled egg in the morning. Then maybe the next day I'll try to sprinkle a little bit of melted low fat cheese on it and add an egg white as well. That sound ok?

Hi there Val,
I know what you mean, I so wish I could be there with Mike, but that is the way things go. I need to be here with Nate not to mention I have my own job to tend to, (wouldn't be to great to ask for some time off the 2nd week of a new job)
Hope you have a great day!

Thanks John!
Gonna try to tweak up the cardio a little bit and see if I can add more muscle and drop the bf percentage even more.
Goals, gotta have goals.
I know I did some hellish cardio mowing the neighbors back forty last night. Got the blisters on my hands to prove it. Mosquito bites too, and Lord I hope not poison ivy. I saw it last night in the back, and thought, man I am screwed... Oh well.
