Thanks Tammy! You are too funny.
Dana has been a huge help but I think unless you have seen someone go through it or have gone through it yourself its hard to understand what it is like. I've been really moody too the last two days with the cold and all.
He has stayed supportive and sweet the whole time. I don't know how he does it.

Thanks! I feel sooooo good tonight. The hot shower afterwards is the best part!
I told Earl that I think the week off may have actually helped me a little!
That's about how the week went too, I just couldn't cut a break for nothin'!!!

Stacy...congrats on walking while you were sleeping...thought I was the only one who did that!
Isn't that what they call sleep walking.....bad joke I know, I know. Sometimes my cheesy jokes come off even cheesier when they are written Or typed down.
I am glad you can see that the phase with the food is just that "a phase"
I was with Steve alot when he went through it. Sometimes it just helps to talk to someone who will listen to you cry and not try "to fix it all".
If you need an ear email me and I will give you my phone #. I have 2 ears and one mouth. They tell me God made us that way on purpose......so we could listen twice as much as we talk.

Glad to see you back in action.....We all get those crappy weeks where we are last for everything including working out!

Back in black, been too long I am glad to be back, yes I cut loose from a noose that kept me hanging around... Geez I hope those are the right words...I often get made fun of for butchering songs...
Ok for all of us Old Farts of the 80's a stirring rendition of some ACDC!!!
Hey...long time no write. Been a loooooooooooooooong week for me, and no workouts made it really bad. Today was almost another one in the books, but I pushed myself to the garage and I am so glad I did. I think having a week off may have actually helped because I felt stronger today than I have in a while.
I spent 3 hours this morning walking and canvasing neighbor hoods along with some athletes, cheerleaders, teachers principals and parents for our levy vote coming up this week. It was chilly and dreary, but we forged on. So, I definately count that as some of my excercise today!
Here we go!
Heavy bench
45# 2 sets of 12
55# x 12
65# x 11
75# x 8
85# x 6
95# x 4
105# 3 NEW PR
115# x 1 NEW PR
That is only 20# less than my competition MAX lift and that was with a shirt on!! WOO HOO!! I was ecstatic! Man that felt good. Finally broke that plateau!
Overhead db presses
20# 3 sets of 10
Bent over lat raises
15# 3 sets of 15
Tricep rope push downs
30# 3 sets of 10
Hammer curls
15# 2 sets of 10
10# 1 set of 12
Leg raises on the decline bench (these are KILLER) They work your whole body and my abs are cramping right now as I type...oooohhhh
3 sets of 6. I know that's not much, but let me tell ya....it was hard.
My goal is to continually add more.
Ok that's it folks. I really didn't want to work out tonight, really felt icky, especially after being out all morning in the cold air, on little sleep (didn't sleep well at all last night) so I almost talked myself out of it. Glad I didn't. I needed that endorphine rush.
Hope you all are having a good weekend!
Hugs,
Val

Topic: RE: What Can I Do???
Hey Sandy.. Ya he is doing really well with his MD although it does cause him some challenges. Sometimes working out can cause him mor harm then good. He did have to cut back his training for the Ironman. He just can't handle the running anymore. However, he does workout almost every day and just keeps evaluting what he can and can't do on a daily basis. He really knows his body well.
Have they tested you for Lyme's disease at all? My stepfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's just last year. If you ever want to talk to Dana about training or his MD and how he does workouts with it feel free to email him - [email protected]
